Updating an old spice rack carousel
First thing is to clean up the old carousel. I ended up washing the glass jars and lids in the dishwasher as they were quite dirty. Thus sanitizing them from any mold.
Materials:
Chalkboard stickers
Chalkboard fine-point marker
Exacto Knife
1. Clean off old stickers from the caps as best you can. They do not need to be completely free of the old stickers but they must be smooth. (I found that leaving some of the residue on the cap actually enhanced the attachment of the new chalkboard sticker)
2. Take your time lining up the sticker to the cap. I was not able to find stickers the exact size of the cap and needed to trim off excess.
3. Trim off the excess sticker using your exacto knife.
4. Once you have your caps finished, you are ready to write! I practiced on paper first to find the right size & fit of the font.
5. Finished!
*I chose to leave the finish on the wood carousel as it went with my kitchen.
But since they are wooden, sanding & painting is an option.
